But probably no one expected Julie Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy on the show, to beat out both Kristen Wiig (and her many 'SNL' personalities) and the late Kathryn Joosten of 'Desperate Housewives' in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category! But she did.
