Lady Gaga‘s Little Monsters social networking site finally and officially launched yesterday (July 10.) The site is a place for Gaga fans to congregate, get to know one another and swap stories and photos. It’s now up and running. The homepage offers a simple salutation. It reads: “Welcome Home, Little Monsters.” Gaga is accepting you with open digital arms.

This seems a little silly. There is an energy drink made in California called "Facedrink" and it claims to give you "social energy," whatever that is. This social beverage claims to "provide you with the extra energy needed to be social or to deal with your boss" and boasts being healthy; having no sugar or carbohydrates and containing only three calories, a little caffeine, taurine, and a variety of fruit flavors.

A study by technology research firm Gartner, which recently surveyed 6,295 people between the ages of 13 and 74, reveals almost a quarter of 18- to 29-year-olds use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter less than when they first signed up for the services, with many saying the services simply aren’t that much fun anymore.

“The trend shows some social media fatigue among early adopters,” says Brian Blau, research director at Gartner. “And the fact that 31 percent of younger consumers indicated that they were getting bored with their social network is a situation that social media providers should monitor, as they will need to innovate and diversify to keep consumer attention.”

In a study that anyone who works in an office will heartily embrace, researchers found that spending small parts of the day wasting time on the Internet makes workers more productive because it acts to mentally refresh them.

Like most people, I'm usually skeptical on the validity of emails forwarded through chains of people. A couple people have sent me this video is from an TV station out of Kansas City, Missouri. So it must be credible, right? It's scary to think that predators would have the ability to find our kids (or us for that matter) via pictures we take and upload to our facebook pagers, twitter, and flickr, etc
