The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraiser for Special Olympics of Minnesota and all about  jumping in Lake Superior in the winter for a great cause! Dressing up in costumes just adds to all the comradery, fun and excitement!

The 2014 Duluth Polar Bear Plunge was Saturday, February 15, where hundreds of brave plungers dove into the bone-chilling water in support of Special Olympics Minnesota. The annual event proved yet again to be a huge success, and a big hit with participants and spectators.

Grandma's Marathon Weekend has officially started, but there is another run tomorrow that is not part of the Grandma's Marathon runs.  The public is invited to cheer on our local police department during the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Northeast Leg.  It starts at 9:00AM Friday, June 21st, 2013 from the steps of City Hall on Priley Drive.
