The UMD men’s hockey team is entering a key weekend in WCHA play. They are hosting the Denver Pioneers for the first time and last time this year.
UMD men’s and women’s hockey teams helped to raised over $14,000 for cancer outreach programs over the weekend, as they wore special pink jerseys and autographed them after the game.
Former Bulldogs Head Football Coach Bob Nielson recently left UMD to be the Head Coach at Western Illinois. Monday the Leathernecks announced that two former Bulldogs will be joining him.

November 22, 2012 Two UMD students are raising eyebrows with an unfortunate decision to post a video on YouTube that shows the white women making racist comments in what appears to be black face makeup.
In the roughly five minute video, the two friends make several references to "their big ol' lips," "fried f___ chicken" and use the N-word multiple times. The original NSFW video has been removed, but as is often the case, copies remain online.
October 24, 2012 As another college football season marches on, another race for the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award is in full force. In the running for this year's award is the University of Minnesota Duluth's head football coach.
Just one more year for the UMD means hockey in the WCHA before they move on to the NCHC hockey conference in 2013. The Bulldogs first joined the WCHA back in 1965, which is 47 years of WCHA Hockey coming to a close for UMD this season.
September 28, 2011 This video is getting a lot of buzz around the internet right now, it shows University of Minnesota Duluth student and Black Panther member Blair Jordon Moses confronting Gustavus Adolphus College student and member of the Youth for Western Civilization and the Leadership Institute Phil Cleary who was handing out pocket Constitutions on September 16th in front of the Multicultural Center at UMD.
In the video Moses says to Cleary regarding the Second Amendment — the right to keep and bear arms:
“I just want to let you know that if you ever threaten the Multicultural Center, I will exercise it,”
April 11, 2011 The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team won it's first ever NCAA National Championship on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Bulldogs beat Michigan 3-2 in overtime to claim its second national championship this year, the football team won the Division II National Championship in December
