When you are on the roads during Wednesday, August 31st., be sure you are following the law when it comes to passing a stopped emergency vehicle.

Law Enforcement will be focused on enforcing the 'Ted Foss Move Over Law' on Wednesday in honor of fallen Minnesota State Trooper Ted Foss.

It is important to remember that when traveling on roads with two or more lanes, drivers are required by law to move over one full lane away from the stopped emergency vehicle with flashing lights on.

This law includes all emergency vehicles, which includes: ambulance, fire, law enforcement, maintenance and construction vehicles.

This is a good opportunity to remind everyone that it's dangerous for everyone involved when working on the side of the road as many of these emergency vehicles do. Giving them more room to operate is a simple thing we can all do to make things easier for everyone.
