The Minnesota Wild have relieved Mike Yeo of his coaching duties.

General Manager Mike Fletcher made the announcement earlier tonight saying that, "I would like to thank Mike for the hard work and dedication he provided behind the bench for the Minnesota Wild organization and wish him the best in the future,”

Yeo was in his fifth season as Head Coach of the Wild and had a record of 173-132-44, leading the Wild to the Stanley Cup Playoffs the last three seasons.

The Wild didn't wait long to name an interim coach, John Torchetti will coach the team for the remainder of the season. Torchetti has 31 years of professional hockey experience as a player, coach and manager.
