The Sharps Hotline is Up and Running to Keep Our Community Clean and Safe from Needles and Syringes

Unfortunately in these times many citizens have come across a needle or a syringe laying on the ground in a public area, and the question remained what should I do?

Now you can help by reporting these findings and they will be collected and gotten rid of of by people who have been trained in the proper handling of sharps and disposal. After just 7 months this project has already had great results. According the Duluth Police Department Facebook page having these resources to turn to is invaluable.

Since the start of this program last June they have received 83 calls which has easily saved 40+ man hours for the Duluth Police Department. The Sharps Hotline is (218) 730-4001 and is available 24/7. Please pass this information on to all your friends and family so that no child, adult or animal becomes harmed by these needles and syringes.
