According to the Star Tribune, the spectacular Ice Castle that is on display in  St. Paul will not be happening in 2018 due to lack of funds.

With the Super Bowl coming to Minneapolis in February the Ice Castle would have been an awesome addition for locals and tourists alike to celebrate all the hoopla, but sadly that is not going to happen. In years past the massive castle design has drawn crowds from all over, but sadly the project was scrapped.

The winter festival has extended the dates which now will run from January 25th- February 10th, with the Super Bowl being played in Minneapolis on February 4th. There will still be plenty to see and do, despite not having the castle this year.
