Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel Takes Takes One Final Ride in Minneapolis

Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel rides off into retirement after one final appearance in Minneapolis.

The world famous squirrel made an appearance at the X Games over the weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium before moving to a retirement community in Flordia with its human mom Lou Ann Best.

The current Twiggy follows in the pawprints of several previous Twiggys that have been performing since 1979 promoting water safety.

The Water-Skiing Squirrel last made an appearance in Duluth during the Boat, Sport and Travel Show at the DECC in 2016, where the squirrel made a brief escape.

According to KARE 11, "Lou Ann is in talks with an individual interested buying her company and training a new squirrel. She’s said she’ll only sell to someone committed to continuing the water safety message as part of the act."
