Grandma's Marathon is just around the corner and today they announced that Olympian runner and Duluth Native Kara Goucher will run the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.

Along with running the half marathon, Kara will also speak at 4 pm on Friday, June 16th. Kara will tell her story of how she went from Duluth East to one of the nation’s top female distance runners.

“We are extremely excited to have Kara join us for this event in her hometown. Her story will provide great pre-race inspiration for runners and spectators alike during Grandma’s Marathon Weekend,” said Kate Kucinski, public relations director of Grandma's Marathon.
