Volunteers Needed for Grandma’s Marathon

Grandma’s Weekend is coming up fast! If you’re not a runner but plan on sticking around for the weekend, why not volunteer?
According to Bob Gustafson, Public Relations Director for Grandma’s Marathon, about 1,000 positions remain for next month’s marathon events June 16-18.
Volunteer positions include areas such as traffic and spectator control, water station assistance, medical services, course entertainment, race packet pick-up and finish area activities.
Service organizations, large groups and individuals are all welcome and encouraged to participate. Each volunteer receives an official 2011 volunteer T-shirt, refreshment tickets and an invitation to the Grandma’s Marathon Volunteer Party on Sunday, June 26 at Grandma’s Sports Garden.

And if you see my running by you (I won’t be going that fast…so I shouldn’t be hard to miss…) tell me to get my butt in gear! Chances are I’ll be bringing up the rear.
