Warner Bros. May Digitally Alter Ed Helms’ Tattoo on ‘Hangover II’ DVD

Funnyman Ed Helms may look a bit different when ‘The Hangover Part II’ hits DVD shelves later this year.
According to EW.com, Warner Bros. is considering digitally altering the tattoo on Helms’ character’s face after a copyright infringement lawsuit was filed recently by tattoo artist Victor Whitmill. (Whitmill is the designer of the tattoo on Mike Tyson’s face, which ‘Part II’ references.)
In response to Whitmill’s request for an expedited trial, Warner Bros. released the following statement:
“If the parties are unable to resolve their dispute, Warner Bros. does not intend to make any use of the allegedly infringing tattoo after the film ends its run in the theaters because Warner Bros. will digitally alter the film to substitute a different tattoo on Ed Helms’ face. As a result, there is no reason for the highly accelerated trial Plaintiff has asked this Court to hold on Plaintiff’s request for a permanent injunction.”
No word yet on what the new tattoo might look like, though we hope it doesn’t look anything like this.
