The old saying about pornography and blindness just might be true after all. A study of women viewing adult films showed negative effects on their vision.

The study, which took place in the Netherlands, examined a group of heterosexual women during and after the viewing of a explicit flick. The results showed that blood flow was reduced to the visual cortex, leading to blurry vision. The effects were far stronger when watching a hardcore film, as opposed to viewing a more tame "softcore" film.

The study suggests that this could have a long-term impact on vision. As to whether or not men are impacted, the study focused explicitly on women. I'm sure concerned men everywhere will demand a study of their own sometime soon.
