Will & Grace fans eager for a revival after the 2016 election short got a shot in the arm with star Leslie Jordan’s announcement that a 10-episode order was already placed, but you know what they say when things sound too good to be true. That Debra Messing will publicly humiliate you over them.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard Leslie Jordan blithely confirming his involvement with a project, though it seems the former Will & Grace star may not have had the best intel this time. Jordan stated over the weekend that NBC placed an official 10-episode order for the revival, with intent to begin production in July, though series lead Debra Messing quickly doused the flames over Twitter:

Back in October, NBC began talks revive the Emmy-winning comedy with a 10-episode limited series order, though no deals were officially in place with stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes, nor creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. The idea came about after the viral success of September’s “Vote Honey” video, which saw the assembled cast reuniting for a ten-minute “episode” about Jack (Hayes)’s indecision in the 2016 election.

It wouldn’t seem likely of NBC to abandon reviving one of its most iconic shows, but did Jordan really jump the gun on Will & Grace’s return? Watch the original video below.
