Wisconsin Point Road will be closed starting next week for Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) of asphalt on portions of the road.

The road will be closed starting Monday August 24th through Wednesday August 26th (also depends on if the weather cooperates). According to Todd Janigo, director of Public Works, “The CIR process mills and picks up 3” of existing asphalt/gravel, crushes  and screens the material, injects foamed asphalt, places the mixture with a paver and then re-compacts the material.” This process readies the road for city crews to lay a final overlay two weeks later to give the materials time to set in.

When the city comes back to finish the project in September, they will use a flag person so the road will remain open while paving. So drive with caution and prepare for detours early next week.
