On Thursday September 28th, 2017 the Duluth Police Department responded to an incident call near the Lakewalk bathroom in Duluth.

According to Fox21, City of Duluth Public Works members discovered what appeared to be a body, while doing routine maintenance on the facility. Currently they are unable to turn the water off to safely recover what could be a body about 10 feet down the drain.

This is an ongoing investigation and no confirmation of a body has been announced. We will update when more information comes available.

*UPDATE*

It has been confirmed, the DPD pulled a dead body from a storm sewer near the Lakewalk in Canal Park. According to WDIO, the body was decomposed and would be sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in the Twin Cities for an autopsy to determine the identity and cause of death.
