City of Duluth Gives Update Following Storm
Following the storm that struck the Twin Ports area this past weekend, Mayor Emily Larson and the City of Duluth gave an update.
Mayor Emily Larson announced today that the City of Duluth is currently doing an assessment for how much damage has been done by the storm last weekend. Mayor Larson mentioned that "We do believe the damage will exceed a threshold by which we can get state dollars. We will partner through St Louis County to apply for those dollars to help do the repairs here".
Chief Administrative Officer Dave Montgomery went on to say that the county is the official submitter for disaster claims to the state. "We do anticipate that it will be above the threshold" Montgomery said. That threshold was said to be just above $368,000.
Mayor Larson wanted to let people know that they are working on clearing the asphalt section of the lake walk and they hope to have it reopen soon.
