The Cloquet Police Department took to social media to warn the public about the increased use of counterfeit money in the area.

The money is usually marked "for motion picture use only" and the Cloquet Police say that "there have been several arrests involving multiple Cloquet resident’s possessing and using this fake currency."

The prop money is intended for use in movie and TV production and law enforcement is strongly recommending that businesses examine all cash transactions.

Here is a video I found that shows the prop money compared to a real $100 bill. They do like similar, but the fake one certainly looks fake upon examination.

Using counterfeit money is a VERY serious crime and you could spend more than 20 years in prison and face fines up to $250,000.
