City Of Duluth To Celebrate Centenarians With Birthday Party

The annual '100 Year Party Celebration' is happening this Wednesday as the City of Duluth honors nine individuals celebrating 100 years of life. 

The celebration will be held on Wednesday October 5, at 10:00 am in South Pioneer Hall at the DECC. The nine individuals celebrating being 100 years or more will share their life stories with inspiring life lessons. The nine centenarians are:

• Thelma Kortkamp (100)
• Marian Olive Rotondi (100)
• Anna Maloney (101)
• Martha Westlund (101)
• Viola Nelson (102)
• Janet Peterson (102)
• Margret Rathe (102)
• Helen Slordal (102)
• Viola Miller (103)

Mayor Emily Larson will present a special certificate of honor to each from the City, and the audience will sing 'Happy Birthday' followed by birthday cake and coffee. Make sure to come early to Pioneer Hall at 9:30 am to get a good seat and enjoy music performed by the talented Chmielewski Funtime Band.
