One of the leading manufacturers of gummy bears has announced plans to build their first North American plant.  As they celebrate their 100th anniversary, Haribo has finalized the purchase of land near Pleasant Prairie in Wisconsin.  The groundbreaking is scheduled to happen later this year, with the actual build-out to follow.

In addition to a manufacturing facility, Haribo has grand plans for the location and the community.  According to news sources, "the multi-phase project [also] includes a warehouse....administrative building, daycare center, fitness building, and a retail experience for the public". Haribo is also known for giving back and supporting non-profits in the community and they have those same plans for Pleasant Prairie.

According to news sources - once the facility in Pleasant Prairie is complete, it will represent one of the largest confectionery manufacturing sites in North America - right here in Wisconsin.  The expectation is that it will "bring hundreds of jobs from a company that is globally recognized as being an excellent place to work".
