Today we go back to this week in 1997 'Jurassic Park The Lost World' opens up, Madeleine Albright makes history and the Foo Fighters release a hit song.

The second installment to the 'Jurassic Park' series opened up this weekend taking the number one spot at the box office. 'Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World' took place four years after the events from the first movie and come to find out the dinosaurs have secretly survived and have been roaming around freely on a deserted island. Jeff Goldbloom returns as Dr. Ian and the film broke many box office records including opening up with $92.6 million over Memorial day weekend.

Madeleine Albright becomes the first female Secretary of State for the first time in United States history. She remained in this position until she was replace by Colin Powell in 2001.

The Foo Fighters released 'Everlong' the second single off their second studio album. Lead singer Dave Grohl wrote the song after the break up of his first marriage and falling in love with a new woman. The music video was nominated for a MTV Music Video Award and the song was certified gold.
