In a social media post this week, the Iron River Police Department warned the public of fake $10 bills that have been spotted in circulation around the area. In the post, the department points out that the bills look and feel just like real bills if you don't examine them closely.

The good news is that there are a number of giveaways on the bills that do indicate that the bills are not real currency. As the post points out (seen below), there are a number of indicators that the bills are fake. Text printed on the bills include things like "Not real currency" and "This note is not legal to be used" are easily spotted if you read the text on the front or back of the bill.

The warning comes after one of the bills was passed at an Iron River area business recently. You can see the multiple fake currency indicators highlighted in the images from the department in the Facebook post below.
