Tip Line Created For Possible Victims of MN High School Teacher
Mounds View, MN (KROC-AM News) - A tip line is being established by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office due to a belief that there may be additional victims of a high school teacher accused of sexually assaulting the student.
Court records show that 58-year-old Ted Matthew Bennett was charged today with felony counts of third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The criminal complaint against him alleges that he initiated a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
Evidence From Victim’s Phone Details Alleged Assaults
According to the court document, police responded to Mounds View High School on November 10 on a report of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and the student. The charges state that investigators were provided access to the victim’s phone by the account holder and discovered a “significant amount of evidence establishing that Bennett had sexual contact” with the juvenile girl.
The criminal complaint says the phone also contained evidence that Bennett provided the victim with alcohol and drugs.
The charges allege the sexual assaults occurred at multiple locations, including at Mounds View High School, where Bennett had been a teacher for 27 years. The court document states that the victim told police Bennett was her English teacher during the previous school year and that they began communicating by phone and email last spring.

Bail Set at $75,000 in Teacher Misconduct Case
The criminal complaint includes evidence from the victim’s phone indicating that Bennett informed her he had been placed on administrative leave and said, “I was fired, lied to them, and delete everything.”
Bennett’s bail has been set at $75,000.
