Animal Allies of Duluth posted a picture on Facebook asking if anyone recognized this cat. The domestic long hair was found near Cloquet, Minnesota, and wasn't wearing a collar. The cat sadly also wasn't microchipped, so the animal shelter has no idea who this furry feline belongs to.

The photo is eye-catching as this cat seems to put on some sort of smile. Some have commented it looks like their kids when they ask them to smile nicely for a photo.

The cat is now on a mandatory five-day hold for owners to reclaim it. If that doesn't happen, the cat will be taken in by the shelter and placed for adoption after the proper medical care. During this period, the cat is not up for adoption.

Whenever there is a lost pet, it always serves as a good reminder to get your pet microchipped so that if they were to run away they could be easily identified and returned home.

Check Animal Allies' website periodically for microchip events in the community. It only takes a moment and can really help your family and your pet.
