Popular Grocery Retailer Closing All Wisconsin Stores On Same Day

When it comes to your favorite places to shop, chances are the stores near the top of the list are there because they're familiar, so you know where to find everything, and you know when they're open for business and, more importantly, when they will be closed. At least that's important for me since I often find myself doing last-minute shopping.

However, sometimes our favorite places surprise us by being closed on a day when other similar businesses are open. That's exactly what will be happening soon with one of the most popular retail chains in the country.

The Fourth of July is a widely celebrated holiday in the United States, second only to Christmas in popularity.

The holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, marking the colonies' separation from British rule. Research shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans, around 87%, will celebrate the holiday this year.

That means in Wisconsin, over 5 million people will be celebrating with family and friends with things like cookouts, pontoon rides, fireworks, and more.

That's why it's crucial to plan your festivities now, and get all the items you'll need, because a huge source for groceries and more announced it's closing all of its locations on that holiday, and it's not the only day they will be doing that this year.

Costco Announces 2025 Store Closures

Costco is one of the most popular retailers in the U.S. As of May 26, 2025, there are 628 Costco stores in the United States, including Puerto Rico.

There are 11 Costco stores in Wisconsin, and the following locations will be closed on the 4th of July:

1420 Black Avenue in Eau Claire
950 Port Washington Road in Grafton
5401 W. Integrity Way in Grand Chute
W162N9235 Pershing Avenue in Menomonee
2150 Deming Way in Middleton
15300 West Grange Avenue in New Berlin
443 Pewaukee Road in Pewaukee
7707 94th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie
2850 Hoepker Road in Sun Prairie
1000 Batker Court in Verona

This will allow Costco employees to honor the 4th of July and spend time with their loved ones.

Costco has also notified team members and customers of other closures this year. Here are the remaining days in 2025 when all Costco stores will be closed across the United States:

Christmas Day
