As summer draws near, more seasonal Northland businesses open their doors to once again welcome customers from near and far. This season, we've already seen the West Duluth Dairy Queen, Gory's Hi-Hat, and Portland Malt Shoppe remind Northland residents that winter is behind us by opening for business.

Last Thursday, after first being open for limited hours, Cold Stone Creamery in Canal Park officially opened with delicious treats now available 7 days a week.

While that was certainly great news, one seasonal favorite and a local business filled with nostalgia had remained silent in regard to when they'd open for the 2023 season. That changed on Saturday, May 13, when A & Dubs broke their silence with exciting news.

While A & Dubs didn't open over Mother's Day weekend, they did post on their Facebook page it wouldn't be long before customers could visit the traditional drive-in restaurant to enjoy a Char Cheeseburger Basket, coneys with cheese, onion rings, amazing cold root beer and a lot more.

A & Dubs, located at 3131 West 3rd Street in Duluth, officially opened for the 2023 season at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16. They will now will then be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Needless to say, their Facebook post was met with comments from many Northland area residents who were more than ready for the news. The comments section was flooded with things like "Been waiting with bated breath!!! That will make it a hoo haw Tuesday!", "Can’t wait to have my Hunter burger, French fries and my mug of root beer!! See you Tuesday!", and more.

One thing customers will need to keep in mind is the A & Dubs does not accept credit or debit card payments, so remember to bring cash or a check each time you visit. Traditionially, A & Dubs remains open each season until early October.
