Now that the holidays are over and we're well into the new year, January is often a time when people in Wisconsin take a rest after the busy season and deal with the aftermath, including returning gifts for various reasons.

Of course, not all places have lenient return policies, which often leads to you being stuck with these items or donating them so that others can make good use of them.

However, if you need to return anything at Walmart, regardless of the time of the year, you'll be happy to know that you don't always need your original receipt to get it done. However, there are certain items where it's an absolute necessity.

What Is The General Return Policy At Walmart?

Walmart's general return policy offers a 90-day window for most items, requiring original packaging and receipt for a full refund, but with shorter periods for electronics (30 days), wireless phones (14 days), and specific Marketplace items (often 30 days), while some items like firearms, alcohol (where available), and gift cards are final sale or have restrictions; holiday purchases made between October through December will often have extended return periods until January 31.

If you don't have a receipt, you're not completely out of luck, as it's still possible to complete your return on some items with a valid government-issued photo ID. Then, you'll typically receive store credit or a gift card for the item's current selling price.

However, that is not the case for the following items, which all require you to have your receipt of purchase.
