Earlier this year, country legend Garth Brooks announced he would be releasing a new album called 'Time Traveler'. He shared the good news in a video posted on his Facebook channel in October.

This week, the new album became available exclusively at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's as part of a set called Garth Brooks® The Limited Series 7-Disc Box Set. The box set includes 'Time Traveler', along with previously released Garth Brooks music, including a live album.

The first radio single from 'Time Traveler' is a stomper called 'Rodeo Man', which is generating a lot of excitement as the stomper pairs Garth with another legend, Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn.

However, there's another song on the new album that seems near and dear to Garth's heart, so much so in fact, that he performed a portion of the song on his Facebook video. This song is also creating quite a stir in the Midwest because it's about a woman Garth met in Minnesota.

The full title of the ballad, which Garth wrote alone, is 'St. Paul/Minneapolis (A True Story)'. It tells the story of a chance encounter Garth had following a show in Minneapolis with a woman with whom he had an instant connection.

In an interview with Billboard, he spoke about the song saying, “I don’t have a clue who she is. It’s the weirdest thing. It was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. When she started talking, there was something in me that unlocked. In my dream of dreams, I’d love to run into her again and see if that easy feeling was really that or am I just imagining things.”

Sounds like we have a mystery to solve! While the song doesn't reference the date the encounter happened, Garth most recently performed two shows at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2019.

Here is the video from Garth Brook's Facebook channel. To hear the opening to 'St. Paul/Minneapolis (A True Story)', just advance it to the 15-minute mark (there will be about 20 minutes and 30 seconds left in the video).

Give it a listen, the lyrics are listed below.

It was St. Paul / Minneapolis
Just up the street from where we played
When this stranger brought a happiness
I think about most every day
This life is hard, sometimes harder
But you were easy as a smile
And though I know you're someone's daughter
It's had me wondering for a while
But, I may as well be wishing on a missing star
Cause I don't know who you are

So, who could this mystery woman be? One would assume it was also a very memorable encounter for her as it's not very often you get to sit and visit one-on-one with Garth Brooks. Perhaps she will see this, hear the song, and the two can be reunited for another visit.
