Superior Garbage Schedule Changes For Christmas Holiday 2022

The observance of the Christmas holiday will bring changes to the garbage collection schedule for residents of Superior. As per the standard operating procedure, the city offices and services will close to recognize the holiday.

Due to the fact that the holiday itself falls during a weekend, the schedule changes will affect two different weeks,

For Christmas 2022, the offices in the City of Superior - including the Public Works Department and the municipal landfill - will be closed on Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26. The holiday closure will also include the Municipal Landfill off of Moccasin Mike Road.

All garbage services the week of December 19 to December 23 will be on an altered schedule. Additionally - due to the way that the holiday falls - there is a slight alteration to the beginning of the next week as well.  During the week of December 19, residents are requested to have their garbage out by 7:00 AM one day early to allow for early pick up. For Monday, December 26 - garbage service will be delayed until Tuesday.

Recycling for the City of Superior is handled by Hartels Disposal. Recycling during the Christmas holiday week will not change. Hartels Disposal will be altering their weekend pickups - which don't occur in Superior.  For recycling questions, call Hartels Disposal directly: 218-729-5446.
