The attack came just over a month after a child in the same city was fatally injured in a dog attack.
A news release issued by the Brooklyn Park Police Department says officers responded to the report of a woman yelling for help shortly before 9:30 Tuesday at the Huntington Place Apartments, 5800 block of Zane Ave North.
Responding officers found the woman suffering from what were described as severe injuries that were inflicted while she was being mauled by her three pitbulls.
She was taken from the scene to a hospital and is now described to be in critical but stable condition.
A security guard at the apartment, who police say tried to stop the attack also suffered injuries to his left hand. The guard injured one of the three dogs.
Police then embarked on what was described as an exhaustive effort to take the dogs into custody. One dog was euthanized at the scene due to its aggression.
Another dog was put down after being captured due to injuries it suffered. The third dog is being quarantined.
Officials say they’re working to determine what led up to the mauling. The woman’s name is not being released.
