Convicted MN Child Porn Offender Found Guilty of New Charges
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man on "intensive supervised release" for a previous child pornography conviction has been convicted of federal child pornography charges.
The US Attorney for Minnesota says 56-year-old Peter Michael Guevara was found guilty at the end of a three-day trial last week. His conviction was for one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

Court documents indicate the Ramsey County man was convicted of possession of child sexual abuse material in Sherburne County and 2014. Federal prosecutors say a new investigation targeting Guevara was launched in November 2020 following a surprise search of his property.

According to the charges, investigators took him into custody after finding an Apple iPhone in his pocket, which was a violation of his probation. Prosecutors say he was then recorded during calls from jail directing family members on "how to remotely lock it and erase the contents" of the iPhone.
A news release from the US Attorney's Office says a forensic examination of the phone uncovered more than 4000 images and videos of children engaged in sexual activity.
Guevara's sentencing hearing has not been scheduled. He is currently in custody at the Rush City State Prison for violating his probation.
Officials say the charges against Guevara were the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
