
20-Year-Old Minnesota Woman Killed in Crash With Semi on Hwy. 14

The fatality happened shortly after 10:00 Friday morning. The State Patrol says a car and semi were involved in the fatal collision.
Both drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.

20-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash With Semi at Hwy. 14 Intersection Near Mankato
The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 14 and Hwy. 60, which is about 13 miles east of Mankato.
The car was heading east on Hwy. 14 and the semi was westbound on the four-lane divided highway when the two vehicles collided, according to the state crash report.
20-year-old Valerie Kathleen Caven of Farmington was driving the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the State Patrol says.

The truck driver, identified as 46-year-old Kaise Ismail Jama of St. Peter was not hurt, according to the State Patrol.
Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report says.
Authorities did not say which vehicle was in the opposite traffic lanes.
