Search and rescue crews responded Friday night and the State Patrol dispatched a plane to search for ultralight aircraft and its pilot, but did not find anything. The pilot is identified as Denny Pechacek.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office organized volunteers for a ground search for Pechacek on Monday. The search area is focused on land near Hovland.

Monday's search was called off after volunteers could not find Pechacek. Volunteers are set to resume the search Tuesday morning.
