Teen Among 3 in Custody Following Fatal Minnesota Shooting
Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage boy is among three people who were taken into custody following a fatal shooting in southern Minnesota.
That’s according to a news release issued by the Mankato Department of Public Safety. The deadly shooting occurred Thursday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to the shooting shortly before 5 p.m. at an intersection near downtown Mankato. The victim, described as an adult male, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his gunshot wounds.
Three individuals, described by Mankato authorities as persons of interest in the murder case, were taken into custody on Friday nearly 250 miles north of Mankato in Breckenridge, MN.
Authorities in northwest Minnesota’s Wilkin County executed a warrant at a residence Friday afternoon and found three juveniles and three adults inside of the home including the suspected shooter, who is described as a 17-year-old boy.
The individuals were taken into custody without incident and investigators are not seeking additional suspects, the news release says.
The three people taken into custody are being questioned and charges are pending. No names have been released. The initial news release announcing Thursday’s shooting indicated the fatal gunfire was a targeted incident.
