Superior’s Belknap Reconstruction Project Celebrates its Groundbreaking Monday

It's official, the Belknap reconstruction project is underway.

City officials and business leaders gathered at  Belknap and Hill Avenue for a groundbreaking ceremony this morning.

Mayor Bruce Hagen, The Superior Chamber of Commerce and Ambassadors, the Superior Business Improvement District, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation all picked up a shovel for the ceremonial scope of dirt.

The project will replace 1.4 miles of concrete roadway, upgrades the storm sewer system, and improves safety on Belknap Street and side streets.
