Duluth Polar Bear Plunge

While the weather was extra pleasant for the 2017 Duluth Polar Plunge, it still took plenty of bravery to jump into the icy water of Lake Superior.

Several of Duluth's local TV personalities braved the icy water of Lake Superior on Saturday for the 2016 Duluth Polar Plunge, supporting Special Olympics of Minnesota.

I have been lucky enough to be involved with the Duluth Polar Bear Plunge for many years, and I have to say that each and every year I am amazed at how it is set up in such an orderly and amazing fashion down at the lakefront.

Hundreds of brave people are mentally preparing to take the plunge into Lake Superior as part of the Duluth Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Minnesota. Temperatures have been warming up this week, but will they hold out through plunge day?

The 2016 Duluth Polar Bear Plunge is Saturday, February 20 on the Canal Park shoreline of Lake Superior. As hundreds of brave individuals dive into the icy waters of Lake Superior in support of Special Olympics of Minnesota, we will have a live video stream of the event right here!

It was my first time in about eight years that I took the icy plunge for a great a cause and I was happy to be apart of it again!
