Duluth Polar Bear Plunge

The 2015 Duluth Polar Bear Plunge is Saturday, February 21. As hundreds of brave individuals dive into the icy waters of Lake Superior in support of Special Olympics of Minnesota, we will have a live video stream of the event right here!

As hundreds of brave people prepare to jump into the icy water of Lake Superior this weekend for the annual Polar Plunge event in Canal Park, one can't help but wonder what the weather will hold in store for plungers and spectators.

First off Congratulations and Thank You for registering for the Annual Minnesota Polar Bear Plunge, you and so many others are making a huge difference in the lives of these amazing athletes. Second, you need to be prepared, and I am here for you. :)

The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Minnesota is coming up this Saturday and after all of the awesome suggestions I received, only one costume was suggested more than any other.

The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraiser for Special Olympics of Minnesota and all about  jumping in Lake Superior in the winter for a great cause! Dressing up in costumes just adds to all the comradery, fun and excitement!

Saturday was the Annual Duluth Polar Bear Plunge.  Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen ear infection I was not able to plunge this year.  However, I made it out and got some pictures and videos of those plungers out there.

The 2014 Duluth Polar Bear Plunge was Saturday, February 15, where hundreds of brave plungers dove into the bone-chilling water in support of Special Olympics Minnesota. The annual event proved yet again to be a huge success, and a big hit with participants and spectators.

Over 950 plungers braved the below freezing temperatures on the shore of Lake Superior to raise over $170,000 for Special Olympics of Minnesota.

Hundreds of people gathered in Canal Park on Saturday, February 16 with the purpose of jumping into the largest freshwater lake in the world to support Special Olympics of Minnesota.
