Fitger's 5K

It's officially running season so get your shoes on and hit the pavement!

The series includes three different races over the course of the spring and summer!

Registration is open now for the first 1,500 people that sign up with online registration through Thursday, April 20th and a few days, of in-person registration leading up to the race.

Fitgers 5K gets underway this Saturday, April 23 and this year its full capacity will be a regular start to the race, but traffic needs to be diverted.

Organizers say the racecourse itself will also be more traditional than the past few years.

Zach Schneider Marketing & Public Relations Director for Grandma’s Marathon announced that the 2021 Fitgers 5K has reached 900 in-person participants and 200 virtual racers.

Grandma's Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation made the announcement that the field of in-person runners increased from 500 to 900 people.

The rescheduled Fitger's 5K is this weekend and the Duluth Police Department has issued a traffic advisory related to the event.

The pandemic won't stop Grandma's Marathon from hosting the Minnesota Mile and Fitger's 5K, with both events still taking place in September with two options.

In the wake of all that is going on in the Northland and the world, Grandma's Marathon has made a decision regarding the Fitger's 5K, which was scheduled for April 18.

Registration for the 30th annual Fitger's 5K Run & Walk is going on now and to celebrate the anniversary year, they have special things planned.

Mother Nature seems to finally be giving us a break, and this weekend will be perfect for a run/walk with the Fitgers 5K.
