Reports are indicating that the damage caused by an October 27th storm in the Duluth area is estimated to be over $3 million.

Last Friday's snowstorm packed strong wind and powerful waves that did damage to many places along the Lake Superior shoreline in Duluth and along a number of other places around the head of the lake. While curiosity might have you interested in surveying the damage for yourself, it isn't a wise idea.

The first snowstorm of the 2017-2018 season packed a punch; breaking a snowfall record in Duluth, causing damage to portions of Duluth's shoreline, and leading to several car accidents including a couple fatal ones.

Hopefully temperatures will start to rise again in Duluth, but just be aware the Lakewalk will be closed for two week due to utility work.

We all now that many of the roads in the Twin Ports are glare Ice, now a dusting of snow, but sidewalks and the Lakewalk are just as bad.

The city of Duluth informed the the public that starting Tuesday March 8th, the board walk and Lakewalk Trail will be under repair for the next two weeks.

The City of Duluth Parks and Rec is preparing a Mini-Master Plan for the Cross City Trail, a continuous multi-use trail that will extend from the western end of the Lakewalk to Becks Road.

If you happen to see a ship rolling down the streets of Duluth this week, don't worry. You haven't accidentally followed your GPS into Lake Superior. The Leif Erickson Viking Ship located in Leif Erickson Park will be relocated on Thursday, July 11. The project goal is to move the ship so it can be repaired and exhibited in a permanent and more-visible public site.
