When you think of the genre of horror movies nearly anything goes. Animals that you would never think about attacking people all of a sudden have an evil streak. But the beloved Loon?
With a stroke of luck a Biology Intern in Tomahawk Wisconsin happened to notice what looked like a baby duck swimming with loons, and the rest is history.
Everyone knows that the Loon is the state bird of Minnesota, and for me I am always excited when I see one. They just seem so elegant and mysterious and the haunting call is like no other.
Even though there was a little snow to start off the week (or almost a foot in some places north of the Twin Ports), this spring has been abnormally warm. With the early warmth come many signs of summer, including the return of our state bird to the Great White North.
