South Park may have been confident enough in its election predictions for 2008 and 2012 to use their quick turnaround on Wednesday’s episodes, but 2016 may be their biggest challenge yet. Following an early call for “The Very First Gentleman,” tonight’s South Park has been reworked into “Oh, Jeez” with a new clip.

Perhaps the only South Park trivia cited so often as its six-day turnaround might be the one time creators exceeded it, owing to a power outage at South Park Studios. As it turns out, last week’s 20th anniversary premiere very nearly added another footnote to the record, as malfunctioning audio delayed “Member Berries” right up to an hour before showtime.

The famed six-day turnaround of South Park historically allows the 20 year-old animated comedy a chance to weigh in on the most topical of headlines, though in the case of fall 2016, there’s plenty of options. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have come to an agreement with Comedy Central keeping the animated hit 'South Park' on the air through 2016. 'South Park' is is cable TV's longest running animated series, after this 3 year extension, it will have been on the air 20 seasons.  The duo of Parker and Stone will continue to write and direct each episode.

Break out the Cheesy Poofs — Comedy Central has confirmed ‘South Park’ will return on October 5. It’ll air seven episodes to finish out its 15th season and continue through at least 2013.
