Superior Refinery Fire

Residents of Superior heard a loud rumble that started Tuesday afternoon and lasted all night. Mayor Jim Paine offers an explanation.

A nonprofit organization has put out an analysis on toxic industrial air pollution locations across the United States. They found 1,000 locations including one right here in the Twin Ports.

In an effort to make it easier for the public to access information about the fire and followup information, officials with Douglas County are pointing to a website information hub where anyone can access the most recent updates.

One week out from the Husky refinery fire community leaders announced that they are hosting a public thank you event to recognize several groups that helped the community.

Yesterday was a scary day for the Twin Ports and especially if you lived near the Husky Oil Refinery in Superior.

I have a child that goes to school near the Husky Oil Refinery and yesterday was sure chaotic, but the Superior School District did a great job of communicating with parents.
