Superior, Wisconsin is the county seat of Douglas County in Northwestern Wisconsin, and is the second largest city in the “Twin Ports Area”, which also includes cities like Duluth, Hermantown, and Proctor across the border in Minnesota.
Superior, which was incorporated in 1854, most recently registered a population of about 27,000 people. The city is largely surrounded by water, including the St. Louis river and Nemadji River, which both are tributaries to Lake Superior.
