What is that old saying things you can't avoid are death and taxes? Well for property owners in St. Louis County be prepared for a tax increase. In the scheme of things it is a pretty nominal increase, but for some this could really add up over the year.

According to CBS3 The County Board Approved a Property Tax Levy for 2020 on Tuesday. The levy is set at $145 million which is a 6.5% increase from 2019, but for homeowners their part of the tax increase will be more along the lines of 3%. Officials have said because the county's tax base grew homeowners will get a small break.

An example of how much more you will have to pay next year if you own a home valued at $200,000 you will see an increase of about $3.50 per month.
