A School Bus Driver In Blaine is Accused of Texting And Searching on Her Phone While Driving the Bus
Distracted driving is such a huge problem out on the roads, but it is hard to imagine that someone driving a school bus full of kids would think in any way shape or form it is a good idea to text and drive and search her phone while driving?
That is exactly what happened in Blaine Minnesota. WDIO reports that thirty nine year old Brenda Carsten is being charged in Anoka County Court with over a dozen misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor charges of child endangerment. Her first court appearance is set for June 6.
Authorities have video and audio evidence taken on the bus in Blaine on February 6th that shows Carsten driving erratically and children moving around on the bus while it was on the road. She also allegedly had both hands off the steering wheel at one point was looking up "Yo Momma" jokes and handed her cell phone to a student to read them over the intercom.
Thank goodness this woman is off the road and not driving a school bus anymore, in a split second she could have hit something or someone and innocent people could have lost their lives. Good reminder for all of us in our vehicles too, set the phone down and drive.
