Minnesota Restaurant Now Named One Of America’s Best Pizza Joints
Pizza is one of those foods that, if you ask anyone what their favorite is, they'll likely have an answer, and it will probably be different from the next person you ask.
With so many styles like thin crust, deep-dish, stuffed crust, and an endless menu of toppings, it’s easy to see why there are so many strong opinions about pizza. So coming up with just one pizza joint to call the best in Minnesota isn’t an easy task.

One Surprising Minnesota Pizza Joint Takes the Crown
The folks at Lovefood have done what some may consider impossible: naming just one pizza joint as the best in Minnesota. Surprisingly, it’s a restaurant many Minnesotans may not have heard of.

Young Joni, located near the riverfront in Northeast Minneapolis, is the creation of James Beard Award-winning chef Ann Kim. The menu features wood-fired dishes and a lineup of signature pizzas that are anything but ordinary.
A Korean-Inspired Masterpiece in Minnesota
Lovefood spotlighted one of Young Joni’s most popular creations, the Korean BBQ Pizza. This pie is topped with beef short rib, scallions, arugula, mozzarella, and a vinaigrette made from sesame, soy, and chili.
The Perfect Pickle Pie
The pizza that caught my eye while checking out the menu is something called the Perfect Pickle Pie. This bold creation includes sour pickles, mozzarella, fontina, smoked onions, chili, ranch dressing, potato chips, and dill. Yes, potato chips. YUM!!!
Don’t Skip Dessert
Young Joni also offers a delightful dessert menu, with soft-serve ice cream, carrot cake, and something they call the “Church Basement Cookie & Bar Plate.” That name alone feels like a warm Minnesota hug.
Plan Ahead if You Want a Slice
Reservations are likely a must if you plan to dine at Young Joni, especially now that they’ve been named the best pizza joint in the entire state. This might just be your new favorite pizza spot in Minnesota.
