Duluth Beer Wins a National Craft Beer Award
The Best of Craft Beer Awards were announced last week and a local brewer won with their Belgian-Style Witbier ale.
Blacklist Artisan Ales won the silver medal in the Belgian-Style Witbier category with Wit, they describe the beer as "Bright and light, with a touch of citrus and spice. Perfect in the boat, or in your coat. Let it put a little sunshine in your day, even during sweater weather."
5 other Minnesota breweries also won awards for their beers; Indeed Brewing Company and Pryes Brewing Company from Minneapolis, Spilled Grain Brewhouse from Annandale, Third Street Brewhouse in Cold Spring and Waconia Brewing Company from, you guessed it, Waconia.
The competition is held in Bend, Oregon and features 90 award categories. According to the organizer, "262 medals awarded by carefully selected BJCP judges, vetted Brewers and guest judges from the craft beer industry."
