23rd Veteran, a Twin Ports nonprofit organization, will host Duluth’s first Nearly Naked Ruck March on Saturday, February 27th.

The hike will start at 9am and continue 4.5 miles along Duluth's Lakewalk with civilians, veterans and current military members invited to march with weighted packs in nothing but boots, hats, gloves and long underwear.

The march is a fundraiser for the group which teaches veterans how to live comfortably and successfully when they return from service.

Mike Waldron, executive director of 23rd Veteran says that “Many veterans feel isolated when they return to civilian life. Our job is to reduce that isolation two ways, by providing educational seminars on combat stress that teach veterans why and how their brains change in combat. And by organizing physical and social events that encourage veterans to get out and build camaraderie with civilians.”
