University Liquor located on Woodland Avenue in Duluth faces a fine for selling to an underage customer for the third consecutive time.

According to DNT, the underage customer was undercover. and these undercover checks have happened over the past seven years. Duluth's Gambling & Tobacco Commission contemplated a harsher fine, but since the long gap of citations they decided against it.

Roto of Duluth Inc. owns the liquor store, both the owner and the employee who sold to the underage person were both fined $200, which they paid. Roto of Duluth Inc. could face another fine of $1,000 if the Duluth City Council passes the commission's  recommendation this coming Monday night.

The liquor store is located near UMD and not too far from St. Scholastica, so it is possible that minors try and purchase alcohol frequently there. Hopefully this issue gets resolved and it won't happen again.
