
St. Louis County Officials Warn: ‘Do Not Approach’ Escaped Inmate From Duluth Area Corrections Center
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is alerting the public about an escaped inmate from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw, Minnesota.
County officials put out an alert Wednesday morning (September 24) that 40-year-old Michael Todd Hart had escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center (NRCC) on Tuesday evening.
Officials say a search for Hart is underway, and they are warning the public, "DO NOT APPROACH" if you see him.
The NRCC is about 15 miles northwest of Duluth, near Twig, just off Munger Shaw Road. The facility's website explains they "promote behavioral change and recidivism reduction through the use of evidence-based practices and targeted interventions."

The men at the NRCC have the opportunity to work in areas like farm equipment maintenance, livestock care, gardening, building maintenance, meat processing, carpentry, and more. The NRCC also has a classroom with computers for residents to practice skills and the study concepts necessary for the GED exams.

St. Louis County officials say Hart is believed to be heading north from the facility toward the Independence area. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a a yellow sweatshirt, gray T-shirt, and blue pants.
He is described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He stands 5' 10" tall and is 169 pounds. You can see a photo of him above.
If you see Hart, county officials warn members of the public not to approach him. Rather, you should call 911 immediately to alert authorities of his location.
